The 8th Annual Tanabata Festival 第8回七夕フェスティバル

6:30pm-9pm “The 8th Annual Tanabata Festival @ Carl Schurz Park on the esplanade, enter at 84th to 89th Streets on East End Ave.” presented by the Japanese & Japanese American community in New York with the Amateur Astronomers Association of NY (AAA). In observation of this Japanese summer festival based on a legend of “star-crossed” lovers, AAA members will provide telescopes to show the public the night sky. There will also be a picture story of the folk tale, as well as an Origami table, Bon Odori, Chorus and tanzaku paper on which to write and hang wishes on bamboo trees. Please join us!  We recommend that you bring your own obento and enjoy a summer evening out in your Yukata.

「第8回七夕フェスティバル」On the East River Promenade in Carl Schurz Park(walk east from the entrance at 86th St. and East End Avenue) NY混声コーラスの歌声で始まり小林利子さん中心の折紙、彦星と織姫の紙芝居、BONダンサー指導の盆踊りと続きます。ゆかたなどを着て楽しみましょう!The Amateur Astronomers Association of NYの協力で、望遠鏡で大空の星を身近に見ることが出来ます。お弁当は各自ご持参ください。どなたでもご参加できます。雨天中止
