Since 2014, JAANY members have actively contributed to the New York City community through volunteer work on March 11 and September 11. Members of the Japanese Consulate and other Japan-related organizations come together to make these two days of national tragedy into days of service at local nonprofits serving people in need.

From Food Bank for New York City In West Harlem to Bowery Mission on the Lower East Side, our volunteers have served meals to the homeless, created origami paper cranes to give away, and found many other ways to connect with fellow New Yorkers while representing the Japanese community in New York.
